CLOUD. SMARTER.™

What is Triple A and why is it important?

HyperGrid was formed with the fundamental belief that Cloud is a model and not a destination. Enterprises and Service providers of all kinds are struggling to make this model shift a reality, but there are no clear definitions of what the pillars of this cloud model. Our Chief Product Officer, Manoj Nair, has his roots in security and in security there is a “Triple A”, authentication, authorization, and accounting. These attributes are the pillars of a security framework. We came up with our own Triple A pillars for a cloud model as well, agility, automation, and app driven, which spans the five elements of the journey to a cloud:

  • Cloudify existing assets: Legacy infrastructure can be a barrier to innovation. HyperCloud enables the cloudification of existing assets to a cloud model.
  • Fully Integrated IT Stack to Automate Operations: A highly automated, full IT stack within the datacenter which is consumed like a cloud, at 50% of the cost of public cloud. Automation ensures the simple, fast, and consistent allocation or resources.
  • Cloudify existing applications: Containerize legacy applications so the applications can effectively leverage a cloud model across public and private clouds simply and easily.
  • Build modern apps on any cloud: Effectively manage, create, and deploy applications across public and private clouds consistently, reducing management complexity for IT staff.
  • Cost transparency with intelligent workload placement: Compare the cost to run an application across public clouds and make the right decision for placement based on the performance and price.

Agility, Automation, and App Driven are required across all five of these segments of the journey to ensure IT realizes a cloud as a model across their entire environment.

  • Agility: Organizations needs to be agile to respond quickly to changing business and technical requirements to better support their customers. A cloud model delivers resources on demand while incorporating new technologies seamlessly. For example, agility ensures that when a more cost-efficient technology is available to IT, the IT platform is flexible enough to leverage this new technology fast to the business and IT can realize these benefits faster. This transcends to managed service providers as well as they are able to offer more cost-effective services to their customers, demonstrating their partnership with their customer base.
  • Automation: As organizations leverage resources across public and private clouds, security and governance can become complex. Automation ensures the support of internal and external policies consistently while supporting self-service for end-users. Additionally, automation is critical to a growing cloud environment. Applications and data are growing exponentially, and every manual step in any process is an opportunity for a human error. Automation ensures consistency in processes and application of policies across the cloud model, across resources in public and private clouds.
  • App Driven: Organization’s leverage applications to engage with prospects, develop products, engage with customers, and handle internal business affairs such as human resources and finance. Legacy applications cannot effectively leverage cloud in their current state, but updating applications to leverage a cloud model is very difficult. IT can simplify this process with containerized services so that these applications can be simply reconfigured to utilize cloud assets more efficiently. Additionally, applications must be considered across all aspects of the journey as any negative impact to an application can impact customer service, internal compliance, and finally, the company’s revenue.

In our next blog, we will review our latest features and the benefits that enterprises and managed service providers alike can realize from HyperCloud.
