Nariman Teymourian brings his tremendous insight and extensive career history in high technology coupled with a proven track record of success with startups to the HyperGrid Board. He commands a wealth of experience and expertise in the fields of cloud computing, enterprise software, business and strategic planning, go-to-market strategies, and program management. Throughout his career Nariman has established a reputation for outstanding leadership and business acumen, most recently as senior vice president and general manager Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Prior to HPE he was CEO and Chairman at Gale Technologies guiding it to its successful acquisition by Dell. Other executive leadership positions include his role as Chairman and CEO at QuikCycle (Acquired by Gale), Founder & CEO of Caspian Consulting (Acquired by Delta Dental) Prism Health Software (Acquired by BCG) and Software Reliability (Acquired by Lockheed). Nariman holds an MA and is a Ph.D candidate in international business from the University of Southern California.

As a serial entrepreneur with a track record of bringing disruptive technologies to market, Kelly Murphy brings 15 years CEO experience with disruptive venture backed software companies. In 1998, almost a decade before the cloud became popular, Murphy founded Marrakech, the first software company that offered on-demand procurement and supply chain systems to over 30,000 trading partners including some of the world’s largest retailers, consumer food producers, packaging companies and utilities. After selling Marrakech in 2007, he turned his sights onto what was his largest obstacle in growing his previous business — storage. In 2009, Murphy joined HyperGrid— a pioneer of software-defined storage that is set to disrupt the traditional storage industry. Currently, he serves on HyperGrid's Board of Directors and is also the Chief Evangelist. Originally from Canada, Murphy obtained his BS in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University, played Division I hockey and was the seventh pick of the New York Islanders in the 1984 entry draft.

James Thomason joins HyperGrid from Dell, where as CTO he led the vision, technology strategy, and product roadmap for Dell Cloud Marketplace, an online platform that makes it easy for businesses to compare, consume, and control cloud services. Mr. Thomason joined Dell through the acquisition of Gale Technologies in 2012, where as CTO he headed the product roadmap, architecture, and engineering of the company’s flagship cloud and converged infrastructure automation software, GaleForce. Prior to joining Gale Technologies, Mr. Thomason was the CTO and Founder of Virtiv, a San Francisco cloud automation startup focused on Linux virtualization, acquired by Gale Technologies in 2011. For over 17 years, as a specialist in distributed systems and large-scale infrastructures, Mr. Thomason has been an entrepreneur and innovator at a number of notable Silicon Valley start-ups, including Exodus Communications, Digital Island, Netli, NetVMG, Netscaler, 3Leaf Systems, and Ning.

Kevin Rains

Kevin Rains has over 25 years of financial and operations management experience specializing in small and mid-sized technology organizations with global footprints. He has served as the CFO of numerous technology based companies in software, hardware, services and SAAS industries. Kevin’s expertise includes guiding organizations through strategic planning, new product implementations, accounting system implementations, contract negotiation, and equity financing. He has served as a consulting CFO for Ravix Group and was Director of Operations with Dell Inc. for the ESG (Enterprise Software Group) division. Kevin joined Dell through its acquisition of Gale Technologies in 2012 where he was the CFO. He has held numerous senior roles in Silicon Valley rapidly-growing technology firms including Quantum3D, MultiGen and The Complete PC. He began his career as a senior auditor at Arthur Young & Company (now EY) with clients such as Intel Corporation and Apple Computer. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, East Bay.

Manoj Nair joins HyperGrid from HPE where he was GM and VP of Product Management for Converged Infrastructure. His team was responsible for driving the Product Strategy and Roadmap across all elements of the Converged Portfolio & Infrastructure Management. Prior to HPE, Manoj was SVP leading strategy and R&D for the Public Cloud solutions at EMC. This was an incubation team working across the EMC federation of companies. Previously, Manoj was SVP & GM at RSA – responsible for IAM & Authentication product lines. Previously he led R&D and Product Management for RSA Security Management portfolio. Manoj also led R&D for EMC's internal incubation project, EMC Infoscape, as well as the architecture of the EMC PowerPath product family. Manoj has also held development and research positions at Data General, Novell and US NSF funded Research Labs. He is also the holder of over a dozen patents granted by USPTO in Systems Software, File systems, Information Management and Security. Manoj holds a M.S. in Computer Science from Clemson University.

Mark brings over 25 years of enterprise software, cloud, technology, operating, corporate/business development and partner experience. He has built valuable businesses in the US and globally in several C-level roles. He was co-founder of eMeter (acquired by Siemens) and held leadership roles at MetricStream, RiverMeadow, Serious, Intematix and Law.com. Early work goes back to Xebec, including original SCSI and hard drive controllers. His cardinal bearings are driving strategic insight through execution, ruthless operational prioritization, smart business model design, and deal-making expertise. In startups and late stage companies he’s driven major deals with Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies in the Americas, EMEA and APAC. Mark thrives on technology, is a named inventor on issued patents in the P2P secure communications space, and is a tenacious advocate of utility compute scale. Mark earned a Master’s in Business from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, a Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of the Pacific.

Jim brings over 25 years of diverse experience in helping B2B technology companies drive growth and become market leaders. He joins HyperGrid from Coho Data, an Andreessen Horowitz backed company that is an innovator in scale-out rack scale converged infrastructure for the enterprise, where he was CMO. Before that he was CMO at Electric Cloud, where he successfully established the company as a DevOps category leader, revamped the company’s demand generation engine that fueled record sales and double-digit annual revenue growth, and launched the industry’s premier DevOps event called DevOps Enterprise Summit. Prior to that he was Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at CollabNet, where he helped grow the company’s annual revenue from $15M to $50M while increasing the number of paying customers from 600 to over 10,000 companies. Jim also served in various executive-level roles at rfXcel Corporation, Virage Logic, eSilicon Corporation, and Cadence Design Systems during their high growth periods. He holds a masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University.

Mike O’Neill brings an extensive, successful career in Alliance and Business Development to HyperGrid. He joins from Hewlett Packard Enterprise where as the Vice President of System Integrator, Strategic Alliances he led the development of solutions, businesses and sales growth with HPE’s top strategic partners, a portfolio that included among others, Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, PwC, Wipro, TCS and Tech Mahindra. Mike joined HPE from EMC where he had been responsible for M&A Integration Management. Prior to his role at EMC, he managed the EMC Global Alliance organization with a portfolio that included industry leading Enterprise Software companies and System Integrators. Mike has also held executive positions in sales and business development at several enterprise technology companies including Attachmate, Data General/EMC, Network Appliance and Stratus. Mike O’Neill holds an M.B.A. from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Puget Sound.

Doug Rich

With over 25 years of experience working in the storage industry, Doug is an expert at creating, leading and growing successful European sales teams that have rapidly increased revenues at various companies. Prior to HyperGrid, he worked for Tintri where he developed the company’s network of channel distributors and resellers in the region and built a sales team that established Tintri as a key storage player in EMEA. Under his leadership, Tintri extended its rapid growth trajectory and presence throughout the UK, Europe and South Africa. Doug joined Tintri from EMC where he managed the Isilon scale-out NAS business across Northern Europe. Prior to that he worked at VERITAS and a number of successful start-ups, including Outerbay and Lefthand Networks.
